Why Have Our Prayers Gone Unanswered?

Why Have Our Prayers Gone Unanswered?

Right now, I am rather stunned. For the last four years we have had the most pro-life president this country has ever had, Donald J. Trump.

On the other hand, Joe Biden, a professed “practicing Catholic,” has stated that, “If elected, he’ll protect abortion rights should the Supreme Court strike down Roe v. Wade, vowing to enact legislation making Roe v. Wade “the law of the land” if it were overturned by the court.” ( Tommy Beer, Forbes, October 2020) And his running mate, Kamala Harris, not only supports abortion rights, but she has said that, “She would strip away conscience protections for doctors or nurses who do not want to take part in abortions. (Timothy P. Carney, Washington Examiner, October 8, 2020)

Many people have prayed very hard for this election, hoping to end the senseless killing of our children in the abortion mills. I was absolutely convinced that God would not turn His back on the prayers of all His faithful sons and daughters, that Donald Trump would continue to be our president, that abortion would finally be outlawed, and that once again we the people could proudly say, “In God we trust.”

But the events of January 6, 2021 have left me stunned. As it currently stands, as I write this sentence, we will have an administration, a Senate and a House of Representatives that will all be controlled by a party that supports abortion and professes Socialist and Marxist ideologies.

On January 6th, President Trump gave a speech to a gathering of supporters in which he outlined all of the questionable voting procedures that gave his opponent the victory. That gathering of supporters were to march past the Capitol Building to demonstrate their support for their president. Unfortunately, there were some in that gathering who took it upon themselves to smash windows and gain entry into that federal building. The people in congress that have been fighting this president for the past four years seized on this opportunity and are blaming everything on Donald Trump and are calling for his immediate removal from office.

It is a documented fact that the violent protests that we have been witnessing throughout this country were “seeded” by BLM and other radical organizations to create chaos and destruction. I can’t help but wonder if those same radical organizations “seeded” this demonstration.

Not too long ago, we saw our nation erupt in violence, by people protesting the death of a black man who was killed by police. On January 6th, we saw security personnel kill an unarmed, 35-year-old white female who was a 14-year Air Force veteran. Granted, she was in a building that she did not belong in, but that crime does not warrant the use of deadly force. Where has been the public outcry?

Why have our prayers gone unanswered? Has God turned His back on His faithful children? My faith in God tells me no! Absolutely not! Remember, Scripture tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3: 5-6)

Maybe God is planning on performing a miracle that will stun the whole world before inauguration day, January 20, 2021. And maybe not! But either way, God is still on the throne, and He is not only our Heavenly Father, He is the Creator of all that is; and we are all simply riding on this pretty blue marble that is flying through space. We are here to learn how to love unconditionally. We are here to grow spiritually. We are here to co-create with God. And we are here to share the love of God with others. There always have been and there always will be people that try to force their ideologies on others, but ultimately, God is in control. He is the captain of this space ship that we are all riding on.

And for those who are trying to force their Marxist, Socialist and abortion ideologies on the rest of us, I have a warning. Each and every one of us are passengers on this pretty blue marble for a very short time. Eventually we each will pass from this life and return to our Heavenly Father, and when we do, we will be judged on what we did with the life we had been given. “We should be very careful what we do in this life because you will have to see yourself do it again when you die. The difference is that this time you are on the receiving end.” (Saved by the light, by Dannion Brinkley, page 69)
